TiviMate for Apple TV: It Doesn't Exist, So Buy One of These

Short answer: there is no TiviMate for Apple TV, iPhone or iPad, and nothing you can install will change that, because TiviMate is an Android app. You have two real options. Keep your Apple TV and buy a tvOS player such as UHF (free, Pro from $1.99 a month or $49.99 lifetime), IPTVX or iPlayTV ($5.99 once). Or spend about $50 to $100 on an Android TV box and run the real TiviMate on it. For most people who specifically want TiviMate, the cheap box is the better buy.

Why TiviMate isn't on Apple TV

TiviMate is built for Android: Android TV, Google TV and Amazon's Android-based Fire OS. The developer has never released an Apple version, and Apple devices only install apps from the App Store. There's no file you can sideload, no setting to change and no "TiviMate for iOS" download that is genuine. Anything in the App Store using the name, or a website offering a TiviMate installer for iPhone, isn't TiviMate.

That hasn't changed with Apple's new hardware. Apple announced a new Apple TV 4K on October 13, 2026, priced at $299 with 128GB of storage, Wi-Fi 7 and Ethernet, with launch set for November 13. It's a faster box, but it runs tvOS, so TiviMate still can't run on it.

TiviMate also doesn't work through AirPlay in any useful way, because there's no Apple version to cast from. You'd need an Android device in the chain.

The tvOS players worth paying for

Every app below is a player. You supply a playlist from a licensed service, your own antenna tuner or another legal source. Prices are US App Store or published prices as of October 2026.

App Price Guide Recording Best for
UHF Free; Pro $1.99/mo, $17.99/yr or $49.99 lifetime Yes Yes, via free UHF Server on a computer The closest TiviMate replacement
IPTVX Free to try; about $3.99/mo or $28.99/yr Yes No Polished look, multi-screen
iPlayTV $5.99 once Yes No No subscription, simple
Channels + Channels DVR App free; DVR service listed at $8/mo or $80/yr Yes Yes, full DVR on your server Antenna TV and serious recorders
IPTV Smarters (Apple version) Free core app Basic No Same app across devices
VLC Free No No Testing a stream, nothing more

UHF is the one we'd point TiviMate users to first. It's actively updated, supports M3U and Xtream playlists, has a proper guide with catch-up, and adds recording if you run its free server app on a Mac, Windows or Linux machine. It also connects to Plex, Jellyfin and Emby libraries. The lifetime Pro price is steep next to TiviMate's, but it's a one-off.

IPTVX is the prettiest of the group, with a grid guide, catch-up and multi-screen. It's subscription-priced, so over three years it costs more than UHF lifetime.

iPlayTV is the budget pick: one payment, a working guide, M3U and Xtream support. Updates have been infrequent, so expect fewer new features.

Channels is a different kind of product. Its DVR server runs on a computer or NAS in your home, pulls in antenna channels from an HDHomeRun and custom M3U sources, and the Apple TV app is the front end. If what you really wanted from TiviMate was recording, this is the stronger answer on Apple hardware.

How close do they get to TiviMate?

Close on playback and guide; further away on two things TiviMate does especially well.

Guide browsing. UHF and IPTVX both have real grid guides. TiviMate's remains faster with very large playlists, and its preview window while browsing is something few tvOS apps match.

Recording. TiviMate records on the box itself. On Apple TV, recording needs a second machine running UHF Server or Channels DVR, because tvOS apps can't save live recordings locally the way Android apps can. For a household with a Mac mini or NAS that's always on, this is actually better. For everyone else it's an extra job.

Multiple devices. TiviMate Premium covers five Android devices on one purchase. tvOS apps are bought through your Apple account and Family Sharing rules vary per app, so check the listing before buying for several TVs.

Polish. The Apple TV remote and tvOS are smoother than most Android boxes. Many former TiviMate users say the overall experience on Apple TV is nicer even if the app is less capable. That's a fair trade if you love the Apple ecosystem.

Or buy an Android box instead

If TiviMate itself is the point, the simplest fix is to plug an Android TV device into a spare HDMI port. You can keep the Apple TV for everything else. Approximate US prices as of October 2026:

Device Price Why buy it
onn 4K Pro About $50 Cheapest good Google TV box, Ethernet built in
Fire TV Stick 4K Max About $60, often less on sale Android-based Fire OS, runs TiviMate
Google TV Streamer About $100 Fast, Ethernet, good for multiview
Nvidia Shield TV Pro About $200 Best for recording and heavy use

Setting it up alongside an Apple TV is simple. Plug the Android box into a second HDMI input, connect it to your network (Ethernet if the box has a port), install TiviMate from the official source for that device, and add the same playlist you were using on the Apple TV. Most TVs with HDMI-CEC will switch inputs automatically when you press a button on the box's remote, so the two-device setup is less awkward than it sounds.

If you already pay for TiviMate Premium on another Android device, the new box can join the same account, because one Premium purchase covers up to five devices. That makes the box cheaper still in practice.

Avoid Amazon's Vega OS sticks, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. They can't run TiviMate at all. And buy the box from a normal retailer, not a "preloaded" box from a marketplace seller; those usually come with apps and channel lists you shouldn't trust.

The cost math

Three-year cost for one TV, at October 2026 US prices:

  • Keep Apple TV, buy UHF Pro lifetime: $49.99.
  • Keep Apple TV, iPlayTV: $5.99.
  • Keep Apple TV, IPTVX yearly: about $87.
  • Add onn 4K Pro, TiviMate Premium lifetime: about $50 plus $30 to $35, so roughly $80 to $85.
  • Buy the new Apple TV 4K just for IPTV, plus UHF lifetime: about $349.

The last line is the one to avoid. If you don't already own an Apple TV, buying the $299 model to watch a playlist makes little sense when a $50 Google TV box runs the app people actually ask for.

Buy this if, skip it if

UHF Pro: buy it if you already own an Apple TV, want the nearest thing to TiviMate, and might add recording later. Skip it if you only watch a handful of channels; the free tier or iPlayTV will do.

iPlayTV: buy it if you hate subscriptions and need a simple guide. Skip it if you want an app that's updated often.

IPTVX: buy it if looks matter and you want multi-screen on Apple TV. Skip it if you're counting the long-term cost.

Channels DVR: buy it if you watch antenna TV and want serious recording on Apple TV. Skip it if you don't have a computer or NAS that stays on.

An Android box for TiviMate: buy it if you've used TiviMate before and miss it, or you need recording without a second computer. Skip it if you'd rather not juggle two remotes.

Our pick

Already own an Apple TV? Get UHF. Start free, and pay for Pro once you've decided it's staying. It's the best-supported, most TiviMate-like option on tvOS in October 2026.

Want TiviMate itself? Add an onn 4K Pro for about $50 and buy TiviMate Premium through the official Companion app. For around $80 you get the real thing, and the Apple TV stays where it is.

Quick answers

Is TiviMate available on Apple TV? No. TiviMate is Android-only and has never been released for tvOS, iOS or iPadOS.
