Short answer: a licensed IPTV subscription in the US costs from about $25 a month for an entertainment-only live service like Philo, through $45.99 to $60.99 for Sling, to $82.99 to $89.99 for near-cable bundles such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo and DirecTV, based on list prices published in September 2026. On-demand services run from about $9 to $27. The catch is that the list price is rarely the bill: regional sports fees, 4K and extra-stream add-ons and local taxes can push a full bundle past $100, while free services and an antenna cost nothing monthly at all.

On-demand services: list prices
On-demand services are cheaper because they carry a library rather than dozens of live channels, although several now include some live sport.

| Paramount+ | $8.99 | $13.99 |

Fees on top of the list price
Regional sports fees. Services that carry regional sports networks may add a separate charge that depends on your ZIP code. Fubo's, for example, is listed as ranging from about $4 to $17 a month.
Taxes. Many states and some cities tax streaming services. Rates vary widely, and they apply after the list price.
Local broadcast fees. A familiar line on cable bills. Streaming services generally fold these into the list price, which is one reason the list price looks higher than the headline cable price.
The only way to see all of these is to enter your real ZIP code and go as far as the final checkout screen.
Add-ons that change the total
4K. YouTube TV's 4K Plus add-on takes the price to about $93. Useful mainly for selected live sport.
Extra streams. More simultaneous screens, or unlimited in-home streams, as an add-on on some services.
Sports packs. Extra sports channels, typically around $10 to $15.
Premium channels. HBO Max, Starz and others added through the live service, or subscribed to directly.
Language packs. Spanish-language and international channel groups, usually inexpensive.
Two add-ons on an $83 base can easily reach $110 before tax. Our guide to plan tiers and add-ons explains which ones tend to be worth it.
One-time costs
A streaming device, if your television's own apps are slow or missing: roughly $30 to $150 depending on model.
An antenna for free local channels: roughly $20 to $50 for an indoor model.
Network upgrades, such as a mesh Wi-Fi system or an Ethernet adapter, if streaming struggles where the television is.
Spread over a year, these add only a few dollars a month, and they are paid once rather than monthly as cable box rentals are.
Working out your true monthly cost
Add up five lines:
1. Service list price for the tier you need.
2. Add-ons you would actually use.
3. Fees and taxes from the checkout screen at your ZIP code.
4. On-demand services you keep alongside.
5. One-time costs divided by twelve.
Then compare with the lowest-cost setup that still covers your must-haves. For many households that is an antenna plus one mid-priced service, which is often less than half the cost of a full bundle. Paying only in the months you watch, rather than all year, cuts the total further; our year-long rotation plan shows the arithmetic.
Why some offers cost $10
Search results for IPTV subscription prices are full of offers of thousands of channels, every sport and new films for $10 to $15 a month, or less on a yearly plan.
Compare that with the table above. Licensed services pay channel owners for every subscriber, which is why a near-cable bundle costs $83 to $90. A seller offering more channels for a sixth of that price is not paying for them. That shows up for the buyer as unreliability during big events, no real support, no refunds and a service that can disappear overnight, taking any prepaid months with it. Our guide to judging an IPTV service explains the checks.
